Research to Support the Surveillance and Prevention of the Wider Health Impacts of COVID-19

The Canadian Alliance for Regional Risk Factor Surveillance will be hosting its 2021 Symposium virtually on 5 October 5 2021. The event will be split into two 2-hour sessions and conducted in English only.

Participant rate: $25 ($10 for students)

After attending the CARRFS 2021 Symposium, public health professionals will be able to: 

  • Describe the various wider (or broader) health, socioeconomic and other impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, that can be unintended, indirect, far-reaching, long-term, or arising from response measures; 
  • Explore the opportunities and challenges of research and surveillance at the population level for monitoring and assessing these impacts; and
  • Discuss the potential opportunities for applied researchers to support the surveillance and prevention strategies in responding to the wider health impacts of public health emergencies.
