Will Public Health 2025 have a virtual component?
Public Health 2025 will not have a virtual component. All presentations and participation will only be in-person.
Presenters
Do presenters need to register?
All presenters are required to register the conference to be included in the final program. We encourage presenters to register for the full conference but if presenters are unable to participate for all three days, discounted two-day and daily rates are available.
Abstract Presentations
How long is an oral presentation?
An oral presentation is 18 minutes followed by a 3-minute discussion period. Each session will have multiple presenters grouped together by similar presentation topic.
When are posters presented?
Presenters will engage with participants during two dedicated poster session on Tuesday 29 April from 11:00 - 12:00 and Wednesday 30 April from 10:00 - 11:00.
What are the printing guidelines for poster presentations?
Each presenter will share an 8' wide by 4' tall poster board with one other presenter. Poster boards are Velcro receptive and Velcro will be provided.
Poster Printing Guidelines:
- Vertical (portrait) orientation
- Minimum size: 24” wide x 36” tall
- Maximum size: 36” wide x 48” tall
Participants
When does registration open and Close?
Registration is now open. Registration sites will close on Thursday 1 May at 10:00.
Will any sessions be recorded?
Sessions will not be recorded. Registered participants will be granted access to presentation slides after the conference.
What food and beverage are provided?
- Tuesday 29 April: morning coffee, AM nutrition break, lunch, PM coffee break
- Wednesday 30 April: morning coffee, AM nutrition break, lunch, PM coffee break
- Thursday 1 May: morning coffee, AM nutrition break, lunch
Is Public Health 2025 accredited?
We will seek accreditation from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Certificates will be issued upon request after completing the evaluation form following the conference.
Will Wi-Fi be available during the conference?
Free Wi-Fi will be provided at the Halifax Convention Centre.
CAN INTERNATIONAL DELEGATES REGISTER?
Yes. International delegates may require a visa to enter Canada. Visit Citizenship and Immigration Canada for a list of countries for which visa restrictions apply and other pertinent information you may require to complete. The visa application can take several months. We will not issue formal letters of invitation for visa purposes.
Once your registration is paid, you will receive an electronic confirmation of your registration. We will confirm receipt of payment but this does not represent an invitation for visa purposes.
