Core competencies for the prevention of sexually transmitted and other blood-borne infections, including HIV, reflect the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviours that front-line service providers need in order to strengthen services and improve health outcomes for those at risk of sexually transmitted and other blood-borne infections, including HIV (hereafter referred to as STBBIs). CPHA worked with communities across Canada, including a National Reference Group, to identify the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviours that enhance prevention activities.
