The Cannabis Harm Prevention Act received royal assent in June 2017. Later the same year, Bill 11: The Safe and Responsible Retailing of Cannabis Act, which amends the Liquor and Gaming Control Act and the Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries Corporation Act, was tabled. The province requested proposals for retail cannabis stores and announced conditional acceptance of four proposals in February 2018.
