Media Advisory: Public Health 2020: The Canadian Public Health Association’s annual conference

Public Health 2020 is the meeting place for the public health community to connect, collaborate, innovate, inspire, share and learn. It is a gathering of leaders and change agents from public, private and voluntary organizations that contribute to health and wellness. It is the largest annual public health gathering in Canada and a key knowledge exchange event. This year we are embracing existing and new technologies that will enable our conference to proceed virtually. The daily schedules will look a bit different, but as usual, we will host a range of session formats.

  • Plenary I: Reflection in the Time of COVID-19: A conversation with Drs Theresa Tam and Howard Njoo
  • Plenary II: Climate change, human health and the public health response with Chris Buse
  • Plenary III: Population Mental Wellness with Carol Hopkins and Mariette Chartier
  • Plenary IV: Reflection in the Time of COVID-19: A conversation with three Chief Medical Officers of Health: Deena Hinshaw, Kami Kandola, and Robert Strang
  • Plenary V: Public health, truth and reconciliation with Marcia Anderson, Michael Redhead Champagne, and Cordell Neudorf
  • Plenary VI: Reflection in the Time of COVID-19: Debunking misinformation and disinformation with Timothy Caulfield

Each year, we honour individuals or organizations who provide outstanding service to their community and profession. Our members nominated candidates for the following prestigious awards.
