ABSTRACT SUBMISSION TYPES

NEW! – Program Showcase

Program Showcase Presentation

Each 90-minute session will be comprised of four 15-minute presentations grouped together by similar topic or type of program, with time provided for a question period at the end of the session. Through storytelling, presenters will illustrate the context and importance of the program to the community, reflect on the impact of the program and lessons learned to date. The story should reflect the authentic experiences of an individual, a team, or the community. The narrative should contain a beginning, middle, and end, characters, and themes that hold interest, like adversity and triumph. Presenters are welcome to use visual aids and/or props.

Tips for storytelling techniques:

Review criteria:

The following criteria will be used by reviewers to evaluate each program showcase submission:

  • Does the program address the needs of a specific population that was engaged in all stages of the program?
  • Is the program sufficiently established to have a story to tell?
  • Is the program’s approach clearly described including the service(s) being provided, activities undertaken, preliminary outcomes, implications for practice, and impact on the broader health system?
  • Were there specific challenge(s) overcome or success(es) achieved?
  • Could the program be adapted elsewhere?
  • Are the key lessons clearly identified?

Oral and Poster Presentations

Oral Presentation

Each session will have five presenters grouped together by similar presentation topic. An oral presentation is 12 minutes followed by a 3-minute discussion period. Presenting authors may use slides to accompany the presentation.

Poster Presentations

Presenters will engage with participants during a dedicated networking poster reception on Wednesday 29 April. Our aim is to promote the importance of posters as an opportunity to transfer knowledge in an interactive format. Accepted presenters will be asked to submit a PDF version of their poster to facilitate online viewing at electronic poster stations throughout the conference.
